Small Good Things (Day 31)

  1. A quiet evening, after a very long crabby day. (I caved and let LG stay up past her bedtime on Friday, in order to attend a school event, knowing there would be consequences the next day. And, boy, were there.)
  2. Despite the crabbies, LG got two baskets at basketball!
  3. Still on top of the work. This semester most student papers in both classes are coming in staggered, as they choose to submit things. That means there's a steady trickle of student writing to read, but I shouldn't need to have more than a couple marathon grading sessions. That is NICE.
  4. LG is playing with a friend downstairs as I type. What's nice about two five-year-olds playing is that they can do so largely without adult intervention; what's unfortunate about two five-year-olds playing is they do things like put lip balm all over their cheeks for "makeup" when you aren't looking (ugh).
  5. LG's party invitations are done, after a trip to Staples to buy a new printer cartridge. I did the words, she did the picture; she licked the envelopes, I addressed them. We make a pretty good team. And that's one more thing to cross off the list. Yahoo!
