Are you bored yet?

An acquaintance of mine, pregnant with her second child, said the experience was boring.  I guess that's easy to say when you get pregnant easily and have an easy pregnancy.  I'm anything but bored.

But I feel like I'm going to become a very boring blogger.  I mean, what do I have to say?

Today I woke up, got LG out of bed and proceeded with the whole domestic morning rituals.  Came home from the bus stop, ate some oatmeal with bananas, walnuts, and maple syrup; orange juice and pills, decaf chai.  Listened to the baby's heartbeat; low 150s.  Wrote until I couldn't think straight; read a couple essays I need to for this chapter; took a shower; wrote another 500 words or so.  Made lunch, which involved chasing IVF Kitten off the counter multiple times (typical).  Walked to the coffee shop; drank decaf and read some more.  Picked up a few groceries; picked up LG from the bus stop.  Made dinner, which involved chasing IVF Kitten off the counter again; little fucker actually ate yellow squash he filched from the serving bowl.  Crashed on the couch while LG played with Legos; assisted in the production of a Lego garage for a large Lego vehicle.  Gave LG a shower, which brings us up to about 5 minutes ago.  Soon I'll tuck her in, put on my pajamas, and probably read some more.  And eat something else.  Because, well, I'm growing a person and getting larger by the minute.

But, really, if this is boring, I'll take it.  After two and a half years of melodrama, I could use a change of pace.  And a nap.

  1. growing a person is hard work all on its own. I think I wrote/read less than you today and I'm not gestating.

fingers crossed for a nice boring pregnancy

  2. Boring also seems happy -- your day sounds exhausiting but relatively trouble free (except for kitty)and that seems like a really really good thing.

  3. It is not boring at all because this is my life too... and I am trying to cherish every moment despite the worries. You are taking care of a baby so it is far from boring.

We didn't conceive our babies in the bedroom so we have much more appreciation of the whole process.

  5. Yeah, Irrational, it is happy. My days revolve around eating, taking care of LG, and writing/reading. Sometimes there's some domestic work, like weeding, thrown in there, but only when I have the energy. My neighbors keep reminding me I can borrow their lawn mower anytime...lol.
