First Day

Well, the first day of school turned out to be day 1 (of my cycle that is). That was a little annoying, although it is wonderfully symmetrical. I keep thinking that I *should* be 19 weeks pregnant; yeah, hard to believe the miscarriage was that long ago already.

I like my classes well enough, though it's always hard to tell from the first day. Some familiar faces, which is always nice, as repeat customers are usually good students who like my style. And some insane requests: like, I'm getting emails from students I've never met asking if I'll conduct any independent study for them. Umm, no.

It's too early to feel behind, which is good. But I'm seeing that my research/writing time is going to get completely sucked up between meetings and all this ttc stuff. Even if that's largely by choice, I still don't like it. This is the year, truly, that the tenure clock and the biological clock have a head-on collision. So be it.

Now I'm going to go take some Anaprox, curl up in a little cramp-wracked ball on the couch, and watch a rerun of House or whatever else is on. Work will be there tomorrow.
