It's 8:20. LG is tucked in to bed (though definitely not sleeping), and I'm sitting beside sleeping Tiny Boy, eating granola and typing this. I could easily go to sleep myself, but there's a bit more I'd like to do with the day (pump milk--it's occurred to me he hasn't had a bottle in a while--and read and maybe watch a bit of something on Hulu).
This morning officially started around 7:00 when Tiny Boy woke for the day and required a diaper change (immediately followed by another, and then he peed in my bed). At 7:15 I harassed LG until she got up and came to hang out with us in my bed. Then I dressed the boy, popped him in the pack n play (now for playing!) and made LG's lunch. By 8:00, she was out the door, and he was fussy. Breakfast (baby mango and banana--more on that later) for both of us, and he was down for nap #1 by 8:30. In the half hour before MMH showed up, I made coffee and took a shower and straightened up a few things around the house.
From 9:00-1:00, I worked on my book manuscript (yay!), did some reading for a co-edited project (yay!), responded to random work email, nursed Tiny Boy while MMH dealt with laundry, made a summer camp schedule for LG, and I'm sure I read a blog post or two, along with eating a snack pretty much every hour (have I mentioned I'm starving?).
He was asleep by 1:10 and I read a bit and ate some more. A predictable 40 minutes later, Tiny Boy was awake. Diaper change and off for an afternoon of running errands (pharmacy, contact lens place, book store). Got home, called A and nursed Tiny Boy, and he was asleep again by 4:00. I think maybe I read a couple pages and drank a glass of water.
LG burst through the door at 4:17. Chat with her about school while she ate a snack. Go upstairs quietly, but Tiny Boy's 40 minutes were up. Play with kids. 5:00: LG watched TV and held her brother while I started on dinner. 5:30: dinner for all three, nursing session for Tiny Boy. 6:00: clean up and walk to the park. 7:00: Tiny Boy fussing. Abort usual reading of Harry Potter and get him ready for bed, while LG gets in the shower. 8:00: sleeping baby, chat with LG about our "good things" for the day. And good night. Yawn.
