Setting the Bar Low

It's President's Day, which means the kids are home.  I actually thought ahead, like a month ago, and set up childcare for Tiny Boy for the morning, to get major writing tasks done.  Needless to say, babysitter cancelled on me late yesterday.

I reduced my to do list to the following:

1. 30 minutes on major writing task (while Tiny Boy watched My little Pony).
2. Start NEA grant application (hahaha!)
3. Email triage
4. Deep clean cat box
5. Make banana muffins w/Tiny Boy
6. Change sheets
7. Take Tiny Boy to children's museum

It's nice to be able to cross everything off a list.  And it's only 3:26.  So maybe I could even get some reading done while he plays.  (LG was with a friend for the early part of the day and is now doing schoolwork.)

  1. I completely agree that it feels good to cross every item on a to-do list! :-)

Sounds like you had a reasonably productive day despite the sitter's cancellation.

  2. Reasonably, yes! Certainly not ideal...but better to do the minimum peaceably than be resentful I didn't get to do more...
