I can't work with LG in the next room!

It's been a rough morning. LG started crying when she walked into my room and I asked her what time it was. Then we got into a fight because she lied to me about taking dirty tights out of the laundry to wear today. She started throwing clothes at me, I went into my room and closed the door, which she banged on, until I told her if she didn't go to her room she couldn't watch TV for a week (yeah, nice parenting moment, that). After we both calmed down, I checked on her. I told her what time we were leaving for school and asked her if she wanted me to dress her. No response. I repeated this process several times, until she finally said she wasn't going to school. Oh-kay. Thankfully, it's a non-teaching day, so there's a little wiggle room to deal with this nonsense, but I do have actual work that needs to be done today. I set the ground rules: if you stay home, there will be no TV, no computer, no radio, no interacting with mommy. You can have breakfast and lunch in the kitchen but otherwise you will stay in your room, playing by yourself quietly. I will be doing work. So far she's eaten breakfast and told me she read a book by herself. She said maybe we can go to school after "group" (that's where actual lessons happen). And maybe I'll manage to write something other than this post.

Updated at 6:50 pm: Well, LG finally came into my office, fully dressed, cheerfully announcing she was ready to go to school (this was around 9:30, a full hour after we usually leave). I dropped her off. No big deal. The "consequence" was when I picked her up she threw a fit about not being able to go outside, and then not being able to watch TV, and then not wanting to get her hair washed. Managed to put herself together enough to eat some dinner, read a few stories, and go to bed. By 6:20. And I want to have another kid?!
