Notes from the 2ww

I have deliberately abstained from posting compulsively about my "symptoms" or my completely neurotic decision to take a pregnancy test as early as one week after my IUI (I was just seeing if the trigger shot was out of my system; at least, that's my cover story). I haven't told you about the sore breasts and the cramping and the headaches and how awful bananas taste.

So, here I am, 12dpo, the day I have tested positive both times I've been pregnant. Negative test this morning. But I'm spotting, which has only ever happened to me on 12dpo when I have indeed been pregnant (or had a wickedly low progesterone level, which should not be the case for a woman on as much supplementary progesterone as I am). So either I'm pregnant, with a very low beta. Or I need to be on a different form of progesterone support (Wonderful Former RE had me on suppositories, as well as Prometrium; maybe I really do need that much). So, to wrap up this boring account of my 2ww, I called the nurse and am going in for a blood test this afternoon, which they will repeat in 48 hours, regardless of the result. Either way, useful information, and I can stop peeing on sticks.

This afternoon, my students take a midterm, and I can read Margaret Atwood. Yeah, it's really good for women undergoing fertility treatment to read The Handmaid's Tale.

Updated to add: bHCG came back negative, progesterone at 15, so it looks like it's on the downward slide and on to cycle #2
