I have read and made minimal comments on 24 of 29 student projects for Class #2. Their grades are completely overinflated, but, frankly, some of these projects are brilliant, despite the fact that they were scared out of their minds by the nature of the assignment. One of them wrote forty freaking pages (I gave them a minimum of 8-10, and most hit that on the mark). And while I'm not particularly pleased about reading all forty pages, I am very pleased that he was inspired enough to write that much. I have to say this is a class I absolutely dreaded teaching--it's an interdisciplinary gen ed course that all faculty teaching on a rotating basis--but turned out to be incredibly enjoyable on the whole. I'll miss them, truly.

I have yet to read my 3 honors theses that came in today, but I can easily assign grades without having read the revisions. One tied a twig, with pink and white blossoms, to the envelope holding it. She's the best undergraduate writer I have ever worked with, hands down. I wish she wasn't so much of a freaking perfectionist that she can't get her work done in a timely fashion.

And, once the semester is over, I have to turn my attention to the growing stack of dissertation chapters (I have one in my possession, and have been warned that two more are coming my way in the next week).

Okay, back to the five, before picking up LG. Tonight, number crunching and house cleaning (I hope), as we take off for the weekend.
When next I blog, it will probably be a status report on my uterus.
And I thought I was busy as a librarian! You read more in a night than I do in a month!
