So last night LG asked me about her "cousin who had a bar mitzvah" which turned to a conversation about what "cousins" are in the first place, why I have first cousins and she doesn't have first cousins.
Me: Well, in order for you to have a first cousin, Aunt M or Uncle J would have to have a baby.
LG: I want Uncle J to have a baby.
Me: Well, that's really not up to you. Uncle J and Aunt E need to decide they want to have a baby. And then sometimes even if you want a baby you can't have a baby.
LG: Why not?
Me: Umm, well, sometimes there are problems like...
LG: Like there's not enough seeds!!
Me: Yeah, exactly. Sometimes there's not enough seeds.
LG: So then what do you do?
Me: You can use a sp*rm donor, like a donor helped me have you.
LG: But you can still stay married, right?
Me: Yeah, you can still stay married, it's just the donor helped you have a baby.
LG: Okay. Can I have dessert now?
I think that girl should be an RE when she grows up.
