- Six more days of summer school and really only five because the last is the final exam. This is good, because I have largely lost the ability to think. I've had an insomniac streak lately, though I'm not quite sure why.
- In just over two weeks, LG and I will be in New York! This was supposed to be my post-tenure celebration trip, and I'm trying to keep thinking of it that way, even if I haven't officially been promoted yet. LG keeps going through the various travel guides I picked up from the library marking things she wants to see with sticky notes. She's convinced if we go to the Empire State Building we will be struck by lightning, so we might be skipping that. Trying to decide if seeing a Broadway show on Broadway is worth the expense; it's old hat for me, but she would LOVE it.
- I've got an appointment with the hematologist in about an hour. What's weird about this is I have (a) no desire to see the hematologist and (b) no real questions or concerns. It's not entirely clear to me why my OB wanted me to see a hematologist, as many pregnant people on Lovenox/heparin do NOT see one. But whatever. I suppose it would be worth asking if I should stay on Folgard/aspirin permanently, as I not only have MTHFR but a vit B12 deficiency and was already supplementing before ttc.
- In pregnancy news, I am officially fat, at least according to LG. I am actually smaller than I remember being with her at this stage (of course, I started pregnancy 8 lbs lighter), but rotund enough that painting my toenails the other day was a rather comic experience. I'm just counting my lucky stars that my back doesn't hurt, I can walk without any pain (albeit slowly), and from a comfort level sleep is no problem. I'm hoping things stay this way at least through our trip; then if I can't walk it won't really matter since LG will be back in school and I can spend hours upon hours in bed writing if need be.
- I think I need to buy a couple maternity tops. I have a bunch of sweaters and wintery shirts from a friend, but I have nothing with short sleeves that is appropriate for late summer/early fall. I've been wearing mostly my regular cotton shirts and tank tops but they're to the point that they barely cover the belly. I'd rather not spend the money on something I will wear for such a brief time, but I don't suppose the whole world needs to see my Lovenox belly. Sigh.
- Speaking of clothing, LG and I are both suckers for the Hanna Andersson catalogs that come regularly to our house (and generally end up in the recycling bin). She would like me to buy matching pajamas for her and her brother. We'll see...
