The End Is Near

  • This is the penultimate weekend of summer. This morning we had swimming lessons, a quick trip to the farmer's market (peaches, potatoes, cucumber, and a treat to eat there). Now, quiet time. Then a birthday party. Dinner (what will I make?) and bedtime for LG. Our weekends go much better when we have a reason to be out of the house by 9:30.
  • I'm working my way through Bleak House (BBC) and trying to finish Moo (which I have been trying to finish for most of the summer!).
  • The house is pretty clean, though I should sweep the floors and throw in a load of laundry (or two, or three, as I think we're down to the dregs of our underwear drawers).
  • I scheduled an appointment with the RE who will be overseeing my treatment (that is good). The only problem with that is the timing: it's the first day of school, only 1 hour and 15 minutes before my class. That's cutting it too close to comfort. *But* the alternative was skipping a cycle (why, why, why does this doctor only see patients for one afternoon per week? yes, that's a rhetorical question).
  • I'm reading Frank Donoghue's The Last Professors. Tres sad. More on that later.
  • Sibling finally has a diagnosis, which is good. Well, having a diagnosis is good. The diagnosis may or may not be good. She should be getting out of Psych Jail later this weekend. Oy with the poodles already!
