Oh, the drama! There was a fire alarm at Dr. Gorgeous' office today. I'd just hopped off the table from the ultrasound when it sounded. Fortunately, I was wearing a dress, and got my underwear back on as the nurse told me to evacuate the building.
In the meantime, she'd put in a call to Dr. Gorgeous, whom I love more than ever, to get the green light for my Ovidrel shot. Yes, folks, the slowest growing follicle in the world went from 15 to 19.5 in a mere 24 hours (righty did indeed drop out of the running--how could it top that?!)), while my lining shot up to 12-13mm. So thank you, Dr. G, for seeing the potential need to bring me in for monitoring two days in a row, or this cycle would not have happened. There are things about Dr. Gorgeous's office I do not like--the endless hours in the waiting room would be at the top of that list--but, clearly, in terms of protocol and monitoring she doesn't miss a beat.
Oh, I guess I should say that the fire alarm was a false one. Some kid, apparently, pulled the alarm. And the nurse got a hold of Dr. Gorgeous when we were able to re-enter the building.
So I am now once again hopped up on hcg--hard to believe it was exactly two weeks ago that my beta dropped to 3--and have my first ever weekend IUI scheduled for tomorrow. If this works (please let this work!) I will be sure to tell Dr. Evil's staff that fact.
Now I need to do some work and bring LG her bathing suit at camp. Good times.
5 of 6 of our IUIs were weekend ones and 4 of those were successful. Good luck!
