Uncanny

I'm a very date-oriented person. Like, I still remember my IUI date that resulted in pregnancy #1 back in 2002.

The Tuesday of this week last year? Triggered for IVF. Wednesday morning? Rushed to Dr. Gorgeous's office to have my blood drawn and then took my class to the art museum, as per the syllabus. This Tuesday? Triggered for IUI # gazillion. Today? Taking my class to the museum, as per the syllabus.

When I conceived LG, which was not in October (she's a February baby), I went in for an ultrasound on a Tuesday, was told to trigger Wednesday night, came home, peed on a stick and ended up with back-to-back IUIs on Wednesday and Thursday. And a baby with a mystery due date, as by beta and early ultrasound, it seems I probably conceived sometime either late Wednesday or in the wee hours of Thursday morning.

This all feels eerily familiar. But of course, after a gazillion cycles, I suppose that's always going to be true.

Here's hoping (a) I don't bleed from the IUI and (b) I actually make it back in time for my second class. That other big thing? Let's just say I'm drinking my tea and trying to stay calm.

  1. I'm also hoping hoping hoping that this will be the LAST IUI you ever have to do, because this will be the magic IUI that brings your baby home.

Thinking of you and wishing for the perfect storm of hormones and eggs and super-sperm for you.
