A quick update on the VBAC vs. ERCS situation. Predictably, Dr. Gorgeous managed to distill this situation to a crystalline, yet multidimensional response. Basically goes like this:
If he's not breech
If there are no other problems
If I go into labor spontaneously
If that happens not much past 39 weeks,
then try for VBAC.
If not, then scheduled (aka "elective") c-section presents the least risks, to the boy and to me, including the risk of having a repeat traumatic birth experience.
That's basically what I was thinking anyway, but given I'm due over Thanksgiving weekend, my inclination (if my OB agrees) is to schedule a c-section for 40w1d and hope I don't need it.
Yay! That sounds like an ideal plan. Absolutely perfect. And I agree with everything Dr G says. :)
