C-section scheduled for Saturday. Which I did not see coming as a possible choice, but there you go.
Tiny Boy (aka Mr. Baby Man, The Boy, The Peanut) has definitely earned this latest nickname. Estimated weight is only 4 lbs 15 oz.
Everything else looks fine but this is the point at which the OB thinks he'll do better in the world.
So what do I do with myself for the next ~48 hrs?
Hmmm, massage, mani, pedi, and favorite meal? anything that helps you feel relaxed and prepared. Baby Boy is on the way!!

Favorite meal. Some fun time with LG (slumber party?). Go out to a movie, which you may not be able to do for awhile?
ReplyDeleteAnd--not knowing what you decided to do about the student recommendation, just because I worry about these things--write that letter, and have your department mail a sheaf of letterhead to you at home so you can print out the letter later.
Oh, go to the library to stock up on post-birth reading material (since what else is there to DO when you're busy holding/feeding a newborn).
ReplyDeletetuck your lovely daughter in next to you and laze about doing nothing nothing nothing
ReplyDeleteI think there's at least huge relief in knowing the plan. I always do so much better when I feel some sense of control. Very exciting that you will meet him soon! Can't wait to hear the birth story. My basic recovery from the second C was so much better than from the first. Much easier. I just knew so much more about what to expect/do. In the days before I had my second child, I cuddled up in bed with loads of books for me and #1. And make sure you get some pictures of that baby belly before it's gone!
ReplyDeleteI have two words for you. PJs and bonbons. Sending good thoughts for you and the Peanut's safe arrival.
ReplyDeleteHoly official count down. Welcome home Peanut. Get in that crib!
ReplyDeleteSleep. Long hot showers. More sleep. You have nursing bra/shirts?
Love on that Big Sister LG.
Sending you an early congrats, and I hope you have a speedy recovery!! Tell big sister, LG, congrats too!
ReplyDeleteRest up! Snuggle time with LG. Enjoy your favorite foods. I'm so excited for you!
ReplyDeleteYou know, at some point in your boy's life he's going to look at you and say, "Mom! Couldn't you have gotten them to deliver me just ONE day earlier?" LOL
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be out of town, but I'll be obsessively checking in for news on Saturday. No pressure or anything. :) Wishing you a smooth and easy delivery and recovery, and a healthy little boy!
Oh wow! How exciting!!! If he's really that small, he might need some preemie clothes. Some shopping?
