Post-Catheterized-Baby Stress Disorder

No, I do not jest.

We went back to the University Town ER again--yes, really, that's 3 ER visits in one week--Sunday night.  Thankfully, after consulting with Tiny Boy's surgeon, the resident decided to remove it.  We had to wait around for the boy to pee on his own and then took crying baby back home.  You know, 2:00 am is not a great bedtime for a baby.

Thankfully he's been doing better without the catheter.  Well, besides the diarrhea he developed, probably as a result of the doubling of the antibiotic.

I have one very overtired baby.  And I was so desperate to get out of the house and away from the crying baby and the diaper changes that I opted to go to a department meeting.  On sabbatical.

Can we be done with the drama for a while?  Please?

  1. So I will put forth to the universe that you have paid your dues ER-wise, and be blessed with an ER free fall, winter, spring, and summer. In fact, I would say that you've got ER credit well into 2020 at this point. Damn!

Glad that the little one is free to pee and that you are home. Wishing the tears abated and sleep resumed. At least your department meeting had no crying involved. Even the hardest day at work is not as hard as having the littlest boss yell at you.

Drama free weekend that stretches for a super long time, okay?

  2. Ugh! Poor little boy, and poor you! Hoping for a stress-free rest-of-sabbatical (with no more departmental meetings. because, really. No way should you be doing that because it's more fun than being at home!

Thinking of you, hoping things even out soon. This has been one long, hard stretch of road for you all. Here's to some calmer days (and nights!)

  4. Oh so sorry for you and for tiny boy. I hope he heals soon and that you both get some well deserved and needed rest.

The bonus is, while you are emotionally scarred, he will have no recollection of this at all!

  5. what a saga. Of course a departmental meeting sounded like a picnic after all that. Hope your boy feels all better really soon.
