Well, I didn't exactly quit given that I didn't have a contract...I just said I'm done.
Although I'll probably end up doing most of the work I've been doing as an administrator (there are only so many people around), I have already taken my position out of my email signature. I'm hoping this means no more direct contact with THE CRAZY if I'm not the one responsible.
I feel so horrible for my (brand spanking new) department chair. But getting literally sick to my stomach at the thought of scheduling a meeting? Yeah. I'm out.*
* I will probably owe my department in the form of a course or service overload at some point. Small potatoes.

Good for you. Good for your college too-- better that you quit this part than leave the entire institution or just go insane.
