Let Fall Semester Begin!

I finished my syllabi. I copied what I could before the copy machine freaked out on me, and I gave the rest to the admin assistant to finish on the good machine, along with some essays to scan for student reading pleasure. I made handouts to get me through the first two weeks of school (though I'm sure I'm overlooking something). Otherwise, I'm set, and the first class meeting isn't until Sept 2. I don't think semester prep has ever been this easy. I could use easy.

This weekend LG and I head to Midwest Utopia (a.k.a Grad School Town) so I can say that I took her somewhere this summer. We will swim (hotel with indoor pool), we will eat meals at my favorite restaurants, we will walk around campus. The last time she was there, she was just a speck in my left ovary. I doubt she remembers that :)

Next week: doing some work (painting?) around the house, putting the finishing touches on The Essay That Will Be Finished Before School, reading poems on the porch.

I'm doing better, blogfriends. Good plans can go a long way for me.
