Small Good Things (since 6:00 am)

  1. The Ultrasound Tech from Hell (remember her, from my last beta?) did my ultrasound this morning, and I did not cry or otherwise throw a fit.
  2. I did, however, make it quite clear that Nurse Who Says Not to Stress (aka Nurse of the Everchanging Nickname) was the only one I wanted to talk to about The Big Bloody Mess in My Uterus. And she did call me. From home. And gave me her cell phone number if I need it. She might have forgotten to order my Ganirelix once, but she is rocking my world this cycle.
  3. My lining had already worked its way down to 5mm, the fucking follicle is gone, my E2 is 46, and I started bleeding an hour after I left the clinic. Estrace begins tomorrow. Target retrieval two weeks from today! Holy shit, people, it looks like I'm doing DE.
  4. Did I tell you LG has three days off from school this very long weekend, and I'd only worked out two days of alternate childcare? As of this morning, I had cobbled together a messed-up plan which involved her being at a friend's house during class #1 and borrowing another friend's babysitter for class #2, which, frankly, would have meant I would have gotten nothing done on Monday other than go to class and drive LG to and from. Well, my little reader noticed a sign at the YMCA where she goes to gymnastics about "camp" on Monday. $35 later, she has a childcare arrangement that I can exploit from 7:30 am-6:00 pm, if I need.
  5. A week from today I will be at a conference, hanging out with one of my BFFs from grad school and pretending I'm something other than a mommy and a fertility patient. I might actually be a tenured associate professor come July.

  1. There's at least one pretty big good thing in there! Your period started and you're doing DE! Holy shit - that's awesome! The other things are pretty good too.

  2. Yay! I'm relieved for you. I was sending you "start now!" energy so I'm sure that was what worked! ;) Glad you have a fun conference trip distraction coming up.
