Still exhausted.
Still famished.
Still vaguely nauseated but not close to puking.
Still no breast issues to speak of (seriously, I swear they are smaller than they were last week).
Still no sense that this will actually work out.
And really no desire to be told that Peanut's okay by anyone other than Dr. Gorgeous. Because really. Good intentions are nice and all but they have no direct access to the lifeform in my uterus. Which might, for all anyone knows, really truly be dead. Yes, I realize this is the talk of Crazy. But every study I can get my hands on, not to mention my own previous experience, suggests that this pregnancy is very precarious indeed.
So I find myself in a very odd space, wanting to enjoy my ever-expanding waistline and every wave of nausea and not really trusting any of it. This is harder than I ever imagined. And I don't suppose it was helped any by having 4 of 7 blood tests say very bad things, even if those things can be explained by The Evil Twin. And every ultrasound I've had just scrapes by: sac present but small, heartbeat but low, etc. I'm terrified in a way I think I only was the week before LG was born when she wasn't moving and my doctor was talking about stillbirth and having me monitored at L&D for hours on end. Complete powerlessness over what's going on in my body. That's hard enough for a few hours, and it's really been the state of my life for 4+ weeks now.
I don't get blissed out I-just-saw-two-lines pregnant people. They are lucky. And they have no fucking clue how lucky they are.
I agree - most women will never have any clue how lucky (or how clueless) they are during early pregnancy. Thinking of you, wishing this was easier.
ReplyDeleteMost women have it so easy.. I agree. They have no clue what we go through. I am scared too and I can relate to how you are feeling. This is not going to be easy, my friend. My first u/s is tomorrow and I am so scared.
ReplyDeleteYeah I crave sickness like a badge of health.
ReplyDeleteI am not back until Thursday this wk. How about you?
OB app't (no ultrasound, though) on Tues, then Dr. Gorgeous next week. But if I continue at this level of crazy I might be begging her to come in on Thurs instead...
ReplyDeleteBaby Chase, yes. But the "we" of IVF veteran is not the "we" of RPL folks. That's a whole other world of crazy I wouldn't wish on anyone. I hope your ultrasound goes well--I'll be thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, getting the two pink lines is only a warm up to the Def Com Five Stress Festival that is (early) pregnancy. I am thinking of you too and sending you lots of good wishes.
ReplyDeleteI believe Tertia is the one who first (well, that I can remember) started referring to her ultrasounds as LBC (live baby checks)...
ReplyDeleteYes, I am in desperate need of LBC. Anyone know if a doppler can be used at 8w?
ReplyDeleteI got my doppler at 12 weeks, so a little further, but it would probably work. My thoughts with the doppler-if I have it and use it, nothing bad can happen, right? I ordered this one and have loved it. Just don't freak out at the heart rate-it doesn't seem super accurate, but I would use mine twice a day sometimes when I was super crazy:) Ah, RPL, it sucks.

Not sure whats up with the price, mine was only $60!
