So I've been back in the office these past two days.
What makes my return even more rocky than being largely away for three semesters is that we (that is, my department) MOVED over the summer. So I had to unpack what I hadn't unpacked, buy some stuff (like lamps, as I can't handle the fluorescent variety), and figure out dumb shit like where exactly is the printer and why don't I have a garbage can. That is, I spent way too much time on things that mean very little but you can't do any work without them.
And then I realized it was noon, and I hadn't eaten or pumped, and I have my annual ob/gyn app't at 1.30 so maybe I should leave pronto. Which means I'll need to go back, as I have a book to return to the library, and I still haven't uploaded important stuff to our course management system.
But at least the fiasco with my fall 2013 courses has been sorted out, so I don't need to teach at 8:30 am or until 5:30 pm, both of which would suck.
Argh.
