I should have seen this coming

Despite (because of?) the illness, Tiny Boy has slept great in the past week or so.  I mean, really, other than requiring diaper changes at like 3:00 am or puking all over the floor, he's slept deeply.  (The night he didn't, the night his chest was heaving and he couldn't sleep other than on me was when we ended up at urgent care and got the nebulizer.)  So, really, I shouldn't be surprised that now that he's feeling better he's back to his old ways.  Last night, he nursed (wanted to nurse) ALL NIGHT LONG.  By 3:00 am, we ran into a very predictable problem:  no more milk.  I tried explaining "mama's body needs to rest.  the milk will come back with the sunshine" blah blah.  Thought he understood.  Offered him water.  Offered him bread.  Put him in the crib.  Took him out of the crib.  Rocked him.  Repeat.  And at 4:00 am, he's still saying ma and alternating between trying to pull off my clothes and pointing at my bed.  He won.  Milk let down enough to get him back in the crib and back to sleep.

Please eat today, Tiny Boy.  And maybe then we can recommence the sleep training nonsense.

  4. I hope he's on the mend and that sleep sticks around after he's better. Exhausted isn't even close to what I imagine you feel.

  6. Luckily, LG didn't miss a day of school and has been a huge help with the thrice-daily nebulizing of her brother. Really nice to have someone else joining in on another round of "duckie medicine makes your body feel better..."
