So in conjunction with teaching Meg Wolitzer's Ten Year Nap, I shared research from the ATUS mostly to illustrate that the assumption that SAHMs spend more time interacting with their kids than moms who work outside the home is pretty much unfounded (at least to the extent that my students purported).
But it did sort of leave me wondering what it is that people do all day. I need to look at the data more closely...but my sense of my time is so different from the average even of other nonmarried parents (I realize nonmarried doesn't actually mean NO OTHER ADULT IN THE HOUSE) but still.
Just an observation that I'm too tired to spin out right now, because it's 9:18 and LG just went to bed, and I'd like to be asleep within the hour so I'm going to stop writing this and watch Parenthood. Good night.
