- As an undergraduate, I was "supposed" to get help on a piece of writing. The person I was working with did not have time (soon enough anyway, according to my own predetermined time table). I figured out how to do it on my own. I won an award for doing so. And three years down the road I won the biggest award possible in this particular field.
- During my last year in grad school, I decided I wanted to have a kid. I did not have a partner who was interested in having a kid with me. I considered all the men in my life as "known donors." I researched sperm banks. I called up a respected reproductive endocrinologist. I now have a beautiful, smart, sassy daughter who will turn five in a few months.
- My current RE is, as I've suggested in various posts, incredibly difficult to work with. My current cycle was just cancelled. The nurse had the audacity to suggest my next cycle might also be cancelled due to "starting" over the Thanksgiving holiday, when a baseline ultrasound couldn't be scheduled. I told her what I wanted to do, in no uncertain terms. And then I called a new RE, whom I will be seeing mid-December. And you know what, I feel a lot better.
Now I'm going to knock a few more small annoying things off my To Do list. It's Anti-Procrastination Tuesday!
