Half a page in to a student essay I read one of those phrases that just smacks of Spark Notes. It took about 30 seconds to confirm that the paper is, indeed, lifted from Spark Notes. But in reviewing Spark Notes, I found phrases that I'd read in a different student's paper earlier today. Now I need to decide how much effort I want to put into tracking down plagiarists. I have two more suspected cases (writing on a different text).
Plagiarism just sucks.
