- The Ovidrel-induced fake pregnancy. I ended up taking a most of an extra Ovidrel shot last night, due to the perils of multitasking while giving injections and realizing that I'd squirted some of the medication into the bathroom sink. So I have at least 1.25-1.5 shots in me, probably more. Can I go throw up now?
- LG's allergies. She's been coughing, and puking. And this morning the coughing woke me at 6:40 again. Then she decided to take the opportunity to sing in her bed once I'd give her cough syrup. Heed the warning, kid: There shall be no singing, or anything else remotely fun, before 7:00 am!
- On top of the fake pregnancy, I seem to have another cold/sinus thing going on. Can I get a break, please?
- I'm starting to question why it is we're going home for Thanksgiving. My brother's wife's entire family will be there. And it's quite an understatement to say they are a strange clan with absolutely no social skills. My brother started dating his wife before I was pregnant with LG, and I swear she has never, not once, initiated a conversation with me, or even asked me a basic question about anything. I've also gotten it in my head that she's pregnant and will do something horrifying like make a public announcement at the dinner table. Maybe I'll get really really sick from the aforementioned cold and decide I can't possibly make the drive...because, you know, I will not be drinking on Thanksgiving.
- Because of the IUI tomorrow, I'll need to do all the random last minute prep for my afternoon class today. (Umm, when exactly? Might this need to become "pajama and movie day," when I sit LG in front of the TV with a bowl of popcorn and a DVD?) It's kind of irritating, because the novel we're doing is one of my all time faves, and I've been just a bit off, having taught all of it on days with clinic drives. That said, I am quite ready for this semester to be done.

Random Complaints on a Sunday Morning

I think... in my many years of reading infertility stuff... that if the ovidrel is like 10,000 (whatever units) that even sometimes doctors do a half a dose because people don't really NEED all of it. I think. Could be wrong though.
ReplyDeleteReassuring, aren't I?
Good luck!!!
I think that's the old IM hcg shots (Profasi, Pregynl, and so on). Ovidrel is 250 of some different kind of units (just like the Ganirelix). For IVF, I was told to do two Ovidrels, so last night I figured it was better getting more in me than not enough. The whole things was pretty dumb, though!
ReplyDeleteuh... pukey ovidrel... but hopefully it is a sign of good things to come!!!
