What I Got For My Birthday

• An interesting black hat (faux fur, with flaps!), gloves, and scarf from LG. My mom, who took her shopping, told me just to be glad she didn't purchase the leopard print. Oh, yeah.
• Money, from mom, that will go toward acupunture and random kitchen toys.
• Something pretty and something practical from my darling L (the practical gift works great! thanks!!).
• Dinner with LG and friends.
  
• An email (on my actual birthday!) from the publisher who earlier expressed interest in my book. Still interested--as in, hypothetically talking about publication for next year. But she wants me to reorganize before she'll give me a definite yes. Sigh.

37 is off to a good start. I'd really hate to wreck it with a negative pregnancy test in a few days...
