Things To Whine About (Sunday Night Edition)

(Sorry, no small good things tonight.)
  1. The Headache. It has taken up residence over my right eye and along the right side of my skull. I can feel my pulse over my ear, and I'm nauseous as all get out. I think it's probably food related, as LG and I ate some strange cafeteria concoctions at a university function this afternoon. I've already taken one dose of everything I'm allowed to take, and it's not making a dent in it.
  2. I do not want to go to my monitoring appointment tomorrow. This whole dropping LG off at daycare at 7:30 so I can get to an 8:30 appointment and back for a 10:20 class...it's just insane. I've already made all the lunches and breakfasts and put the coffee on and put LG's homework away so basically I need to get myself dressed and get her dressed and go. Still. I beg the Universe: can this please be the last month that I need to go for monitoring appointments before class?!
  3. I still have student papers to comment on and three handouts to make and an essay to read sometime before I go to bed. Which really should be in about thirty seconds, given #1.
  4. Email. I have a policy that I do not respond to student email over the weekend. Frankly, I should stop checking work email over the weekend. But it's there, building up, and I won't be able to get to it until lunch time tomorrow, due to #2. With every email, there's a request to do more work. And you know, I have enough on my plate right now.
  5. There is no caffeine in the house. No coffee, no black teas, no cans of cola. You know, because I'm being good. I'm taking all my freaking supplements, not eating wheat or soy and only minimal amounts of dairy (as in, a splash of cream in my decaf). I could really really really use a can of Coke right now. Or a live in acupuncturist/massage therapist. That would be nice, too.

  1. Ugh. I'm sorry it's all piling up on you. And the no caffeine in the house? Sister, let me just say that I feel your pain. Hope the week gets easier and the headache goes away...
