- LG was on her super best behavior during my morning class. Then we ignored our packed lunches and went out for sushi. Back at the office, she stapled all kinds of things and wrote notes about poems costing $17 for another hour or so, before I dropped her off at the neighbor's and went to my afternoon class alone. "Mom," LG said, "how many times do you think you say the word essay in your class? It was at least fifteen."
- Somehow, despite having LG in my office singing, I managed to prep for class. And while it was not the best class ever, it was just fine for a snow day, where about 1/3 of the class was absent.
- My across-the-street neighbor graciously shoveled that last foot at the edge of the driveway that had built up after the plow came through.
- I do not have a stack of papers to read this weekend, or a novel to read, which means I can actually focus on finishing the conference paper and sending out manuscripts.
- I get to putter around my house tomorrow, alone, and take care of my own stuff, which I desperately need.
