Tiny Boy has turned into a Real Baby. (A. has said this as well, comparing him to Pinocchio, but I'm honestly not sure who started it.) I mean, he's solid (almost 10 pounds?), wearing actual 0-3 month baby clothes. He looks around intently. He smiles a lot (especially at LG and the ceiling fan). He holds his head up. He plays. And he seems to have stopped crying.
Yes, he fusses. Wet diaper. Need to sleep. Hungry. Being ignored while mom showers. But we seem to be done (fingers crossed) with the lengthy crying fits and bouts of abdominal pain. I attribute this to (a) zantac, (b) me going 100% off dairy again, and (c) taking measures to reduce milk oversupply/foremilk imbalance (on that note, ironically The Illness of last week seems to have helped).
But for the past three days, I have gotten him to nap in the moses basket. Last night, I can't even remember how long he went between feedings. I know I nursed him around 8:00 and again at 4:00 and I'm sure there must have been something in between...but clearly I wasn't awake that long when it happened. Maybe 1:00?
As I type this, he's going on two hours of peaceful (not-on-me) sleep. I've done some reading and a bit of writing. While I know not to expect this trend to continue, wow, is it nice.
So awesome! It sounds like you have turned the corner from the first 12 weeks into the "ok-if-this-is-how-things-are-I-can-live-with-this" phase.
ReplyDeleteAnd 10.3lbs? Wow! That's a lot of baby! Nice work on the feeding!
Yeah, I'm hoping this is the New Tiny Boy. I mean, I loved the old one, but this one is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing he's about 9.5-10 lbs, given he was almost 9 two weeks ago. Still, almost twice his birthweight...
