The insomniated preface: So Saturday night was so awful I have few words (the boy woke at 1:00, in my bed by 2:00 and proceeded to keep me awake until after 5:00--rolling, kicking, and his breathing is awful [apnea?]; I put him back in his room, where he proceeded to sleep until after 8:00). Last night he was down by 8:30, stayed in his bed, only woke twice and up for the day after 7:00; I went immediately back to sleep both times. What a world of difference. But still, a "good" night involves waking multiple times and 10.5 hrs of sleep for a child that doesn't nap? Anyhoo. Today:
7:10 Tiny Boy wakes me from a deep dream sleep; we snuggle; he goes potty; we snuggle and read a book [I tell LG to get up at 7:20; she doesn't until 7:45]; get him dressed and teeth brushed
7:50 downstairs; he has his screen time, I make lunch and coffee; harass LG about various things that haven't made it into her backpack and how eating a baby yogurt and a small carrot IS NOT LUNCH for an 11-year-old (I feel like my mother. oy)
8:15 LG leaves, we leave
8:45 I'm home, drink coffee, scramble an egg with veggies; eat breakfast and deal with the email I haven't dealt with for the weekend
9:15-11:15 write/prep for poetry and art workshop on Wed. [this involves using Power Point, which is new]
11:25-11:40 exercise break
11:40-12:20 lunch and read/prep for class
12:20-1:30 miscellaneous admin tasks, including publicity for the Wed thing.
1:45-3:30 at the office; meet with student; more admin stuff; conversation with Crazy Senior Colleague; print material for workshop at LG's school
3:45-4:45 workshop for LG's school
5:00 pick up Tiny Boy and commence nighttime activities, which brings us to now, when he is sitting on the potty (7:45). He just told me in all seriousness he is going to hibernate all winter long. I'd settle for 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. 8 would be divine.
