Moving Along

The good thing is I seem to have found a way to deal with the nervous energy: moving. The bad thing is I really need to be chained to a desk to write. So this morning, after I knocked out a decent 600+ words, I went to campus where I started moving my stuff from one office to the office next door (that was the real reason for coffee on Friday with my colleague; she gave me her key). I'm happy to say I'm about 80% done and should have the job complete before IVF is really in full swing (all books and files moved, just need to go through the desk drawers and figure out how much student work can be trashed and how much needs to go with me, to linger for a few more semesters). Then I ate lunch and took a walk, during which time I realized that the current writing project itself actually makes me anxious (I'm doing work on mothering and academe) and I need to let it go for now. Thankfully, I am not at a loss for work :)

I might head to the grocery store or change the sheets or go pull weeds in the yard. Because, really, I can't sit still right now.

  1. If you want to pull weeds, I have the proverbial weed garden here! :) Peter is keeping up with the lawn care but the weeds were my part of the puzzle and they look BAD!
