- I'm on the clock, as far as IVF goes. Done with BCP. Doing nothing but taking care of myself for the next 16 days, and then starting Ganirelix injections if everything looks okay. That reminds me--need to call the pharmacy and order drugs, now that the Follistim glitch has been worked out.
- Meditating on the porch--very good. Fertility meditation CD--very very bad (the first track made me break out sobbing, the second track bored me like a bad lecture). Fully Fertile book--absolutely amazing, though I do not really have the time to devote to all the lifestyle changes they describe (the whole plan takes 12 weeks and I have exactly 4). What I keep telling myself, thanks to the book: the reality is I'm undergoing fertility treatment and not having an easy time of it; but it's my choice if I want to live that reality sad and angsty or with as much peace as I can find.
- LG and I have her kindergarten tour tonight. And we managed to get out of the house on time again!
- Major household drama with LG. Lots of door slamming and crying and sucking the pacifier (that is supposedly going away the first day of school. yeah, right.)
- The Article that Will Be Finished Before School? It's done enough that I could give to a colleague for advice. But I decided it's too stupid (okay, raw) to send out. (This is not a usual assessment of my critical work; I'm usually happy to send things out, probably too early in the process.
- Much emailing about "coffee" with various colleagues/co-conspirators on projects. I'd rather not do it all at once, but I also recognize that once Sept 15 hits, I'm back to 2-5 trips to Dr. Gorgeous' office each week.
- Need to make a research plan for the semester, in terms of which projects to prioritize.
- Much housework needs to be done. Dishes are piled up in the sink, and laundry in the basement. In addition to the usuals, LG managed to spill massive amounts of liquid on not one but two quilts this weekend, and her preschool bedding came home. My desk is also piled with stuff that needs to be filed.
- Errands to run this afternoon: I need a new pair of casual shoes (the ones I like are cracked along the bottom and my feet get wet when it rains. I think it's time to let them go.). Also, a trip to Target for toilet paper, a comb for LG, and that sort of silliness. If I'm feeling ambitious I might pick up something to use for shelving in the garage and/or basement, because that's the next area of destruction that needs to be cleaned.
Much to do! So that's all for now.
If you have an Aldi where you live, they have utility shelving on sale this week. Super cheap.
ReplyDeleteWow! A kindergarten tour! That is so exciting!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that your meditation is going well even if the CD sucked. That sounds like a CD someone gave me... I remember crying and then being bored and then tossing it in the trash.
I'm not sure I'm meditating, so much as sitting in silence on my porch. But it is calming, and that's the point, right? And tomorrow, I'm trying acupuncture. :)
