- Vacation was good. Lots of beach. Lots of good food. Lots of interesting things to see. LG had a blast at the hotel pool (I would have been happier at a quaint B&B, but sometimes you need to appease The Queen of Six.)
- I managed to circumvent getting bad news over the phone by leaving a message this morning that said, "I just had my blood drawn, I know it's negative, I'd like to talk to you today or tomorrow about my IVF calendar."
- The upside of early testing is I stopped taking progesterone and lovenox and drank myself silly last night. Because as zen as I was all vacation, I really needed vodka last night.
- I'm still fairly certain that IVF won't work. But I'm also pretty sure that I need to try it. So I am. I'll get calendar details tomorrow, as the nurse returned my call while LG and I were at the pool. If I remember correctly, target retrieval is Aug 12.
- I'm not sure if it's the DHEA or forgetting my usual soap on the trip, but my skin is horrible right now. Like, I haven't had acne like this since high school. One day it wasn't there, the next day it was. I'll give it a few more days at home to see if things chance, but then I'll drop my dose of DHEA to see if it makes a difference. Ugh.
- All things considered, I think I'm doing amazingly well.

YAY! Welcome back! It sounds like your vacation was just what you needed.
ReplyDeleteThe skin (and any headaches you might be getting) is the DHEA. I took it for 3 months and it ended up taking about 6 months for the side effects to go away (including my diminished follicle count).
Good luck on your IVF! The interesting thing about it (as opposed to IUI) is you will get to see what your fertilization rate is. I'm data girl, myself. The more statistics the better I always say.
Welcome back! August 12th is a wonderful day to conceive LG#2!
ReplyDeleteThanks, you two!
ReplyDeleteGwynn, I'm not sure about the DHEA; I've been on it for a month with really no side effects at all. Seems suspect to me that the acne started up the second day of the trip... literally overnight. If it doesn't clear up shortly, though, I'll be singing a different tune :)
Welcome home! Glad to hear you had a nice trip and that you've made some decisions.
