Delurk, please!

I just happened to glance at my stats.  Lots of folks reading--including some posts of ancient, sad ttc  history--and not many commenting.

So if you're just tuning in to Something Remarkable, please do say hello.  I don't bite.  And I definitely don't have rabies.  Tee hee.

I have been at this computer for going on 1.5 hrs and have only written about 300 words.  And Tiny Boy is going to need to eat any moment now.  Ugh.  Ugh.  Ugh.

  1. Hey Gwinne! I'm Laura, a still-in-the-trenches six year IF'er! Reading for inspiration and continued hope :)

  2. You know, many of those were probably me, as I was obsessively looking at your Tiny Boy "beta hell" posts to get some hope. Alas, hope was not enough!

  3. Hi, Laura, thanks for reading!

Nah, IrrEx...I'm talking ancient history from 2009. But, yeah, those were some fucked up betas... I hope you're doing okay. Do you have my email? It's gwinne at yahoo, if you want to "talk" offline.

  4. Hi Gwinne,
I have had my first child 5 months ago. I find your family-decisions & academe-decisions incredibly inspiring. My son will wake up to nurse any time now, just wanted to thank you for sharing so much of your time!

  6. Hi, Julia. Thanks for commenting, and for the kind words.

BB...been thinking about you and Ella. Check in occasionally on caring bridge. Hope all is okay.

And FWIW, I'm not upset at all by whoever is looking into the archives...just curious!!! And if there's something you're looking for, whoever you are, I'd be happy to steer you there. I don't have a ttc timeline here like many folks; it was just too damn depressing.

  7. Gwinne-
Enjoy your writing. I'm a mom to a 3yo and 14 month old and have PCOS. I haven't been in the archives but have been reading for a couple years now. Thanks for writing! Erin

  8. Hi Gwinne,

I've de-lurked before... Linda from Michigan. Middle school Science teacher.

Kinda, sorta, maybe considering becoming an SMC.
Though a huge work catastrophe has put that in the backseat for a good long while.

I don't often comment much. But I check in quite a bit. I like reading of your adventures with LG, Tiny Boy and your work. Plus I enjoy reading good writing. :)

Hope you get some sleep soon!

  10. Hi Gwinne,

    I have been a long-time reader.

For the last three and a half years, I have been trying to have a child, also as a single mom by choice. Now I am at the "try one more time with my own eggs" or "move on to trying with donor egg" place.

I really appreciate you sharing the story and adventures of your family!

  11. Hi, Whitney. Feel free to email me if you want to chat about your decision....I was certainly in that place more than once. Also do you know about the SMC de/ds listserv?

  12. Thanks, Gwinne. In a couple of weeks, I will email you about the DE decision. There are several SMC lists I am on, though I don't know about one for de/ds. Would you please email me? mypath819 at gmail do com.

    Thanks!

  13. Hi Gwinne--I just found your blog from the comment you left on my blog. I'm a fellow SMC (blog Candlelight and Pacifiers), about to do my 2nd IVF, but contemplating all sorts of steps after that in case it doesn't work....Love your blog, btw!
