First there was the meeting that went on way longer than it should, that involved my department chair going on a rant about the committee I'm on, most of which could have been avoided had we been given clearer directions AT THE BEGINNING rather than end of this process.
And then there was the spending (or potential spending) of thousands of dollars not on fun things but (1) eradication of carpenter ants, (2) cleaning up the water damage in my basement (I'm sure there will also be the actual FIXING of the basement at some point, but not this week), (3) getting a re-estimate on a roof, and (4) scheduling an appointment for brakes on the car.
And I'm sure I mentioned the part about giving the baby eye drops and breathing treatments 3 times a day more than either of us would like.
And then the mundane and usual email crap. And students not doing what they are supposed to.
But. All these things are fixable. Crabby-making. But fixable.
Go sit with my friend Irrational Exuberance who is undeniably having a much worse day. Hold her in your heart. I am.
