IUI #15

Not much to report. IUI #15 went off without a hitch, after a thirty minute panic thinking I was headed the wrong direction on the highway (the last time I went to this clinic I was the passenger, zonked out on valium). Thankfully, Dr. Gorgeous didn't want to do a postmortem chat on the cycle or talk about my future plans. (I'm seeing her just before beta for that.) That is, she got to see that I'm not always a teary-eyed mess in her presence.

I didn't do many superstitious weird things but did read "Night Sea Journey" (narrated from the point of view of a sp*rm) after the procedure. I'm still nauseated beyond words from Ovidrel x 2 (which apparently was to, hopefully, mature those borderline follicles and provide extra luteal support) but, honestly, more optimistic than I've been going into an IUI in a very very long time. I guess 3-4 follicles and a lot of estrogen will do that. Now I'm going to enjoy another shot free day and relax.

  1. Good to hear it all went well. Yes, relax relax relax and think positive sperm/egg thoughts.

Do you ever listen to Prairie Home Companion on NPR? Really cute story about how a person was conceived on this weekend... your story narrated from the perspective of a sperm reminded me of it.

  2. I'm glad it went well, and hoping, hoping, hoping that it went even better than well.

Remember, lots of pineapple for breakfast, and a bit o' magical thinking never hurt anyone. Thinking of you, Gwinne.
