Small Good Things

  1. I bribed LG with a kitten. Now, while I didn't think of myself as the bribing kind of parent, I've also learned that LG is motivated by extrinsic rewards, while natural consequences mean absolutely nothing to her. And I've been hemming and hawing about whether or not to get a kitten for several months. Long story short: it appears that within the week she will have earned herself a kitten. We could really use something small and cute in our house, and good behavior on top of it? What could be wrong with that?
  2. I just love that farmer's market. We picked up sweet corn, cherry tomatoes, green peppers, green beans, cucumber, new red potatoes, and blueberries. Then my big girl helped me lug our spoils home. Just two summers ago I would have been pushing her in the stroller (it's about a mile each way); it turns out 50 lbs of 6-year-old is really helpful!
  3. We stopped at the coffee shop. And I decided I couldn't resist real coffee with cream. The caffeine buzz is really really nice :)
  4. I've got all kinds of ovarian popping going on (right side), which means the cyst is going away and/or new antrals are coming out. Either way, I'll take it. (But pretty please may I do this cycle?)
  5. It is not one year ago, when I was completely flipped out about my first cancelled IVF. I've come a long way, even if I have very little to show for it.
