And then a moment of sheer terror

7:00: I take a break from Hanukkah festivities with A and kids to shoot up. Get the follistim from the fridge, grab the zippered pen container of needles from the top of my closet, along with the alcohol wipes. Umm, okay.

Where the fuck is my follistim pen?

I pull out the big box of bad. Every last syringe of lovenox, the extra boxes of menopur, the huge PIO needles, the seemingly hundreds of 3 ml syringes. Nada. Maybe it's behind the prometrium? Maybe I forgot to put it away back in August? Maybe I threw it out accidentally, since the gonal-f pen IS disposable? Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I am NOT calling Dr. Gorgeous on a Saturday night to tell her I'm a dimwit who lost her Follistim pen. She thinks I'm one of her smartest patients.

I go through the box again. More carefully. And there it is, in a random bag of insulin syringes and alcohol wipes. Amen.

And let me tell you, 90 minutes and 200 IU later, my ovaries are all a-tingle. And that fucking pen is stashed next to the lemon juice in the fridge.

  1. Hi Gwinne, I know you were thinking about DE in your previous posts. I'm not sure if you are aware of frozen donor eggs at RBA in Atlanta. They have a success rate of 70% (same as fresh cycle but cost less and logistics are not as crazy, also they only transfer quality embryos).. check out the board here.

If this does not apply to you, please ignore it. I just thought of you because my RE is at RBA and they have many clients from all over the country doing frozen DE cycle because they have the highest success rate in the country.
