I Heart Dr. Gorgeous

Well, she didn't say no. She called me at home today, which was rather humorous as her cell phone kept cutting out at the important points in the conversation, and she had to call me back twice before she finally just used her office phone, but I digress.

Long story short: she expressed some concerns about the co-cycle plan, but they weren't any different than the two I thought she might have. And, frankly, they're the two that I have as well: (1) doing a co-cycle has the potential to screw up both cycles and (2) it suggests there's an underlying psychological issue that really needs to be worked out before proceeding with DE.

So I'm going to meet with the DE coordinator, I'm going to think some more, and then I'm going to figure out is if I just want to do an IVF in March. She said, in her own gentle way, that I've really given my body a fair chance already. And mostly I agree. But there's that niggling wonder that if I did a different protocol, would I have a different result?

And at the end of it she wished me a happy new year and thanked me for the cookies. (Seriously, she remembered that from a couple weeks ago, and said they've got my tupperware container. I wonder if she also has the coffee mug I left there in, like, June, and never remembered to ask about.)

I know I've said it before, but, really, I've got a great doctor. I only wish I could be one of her success stories.

  1. I like the way Dr. G told you that you have given your body a fair chance already.. that is very compassionate.

  2. I thought the magic estrogen priming protocol would be the ticket. I got one follicle instead of 2.

Even going to CCRM and paying about a billion dollars only offered the chance for a retrieval and transfer - no hope for frozen.

My choice was easier once I knew those details.

Can you arrange for a consult with CCRM by phone in the mean time? It takes months on a waiting list, but you just might have the time.
