Wanna Guess?

How many phone calls does it take to get 5 syringes of Ganirelix?

  2. I'm going to guess at least one per syringe.

  3. Well, let's see. It took 4 calls to Dr. Gorgeous's office, 3 calls and 1 actual trip to my local pharmacy, 3 (?) discussions with the Special Order Pharmacy from Hell, and 3 (?) more with Special Order Pharmacy #2. And there might be a few more that I'm missing...

(Ganirelix is a drug most often used during IVF cycles to prevent LH surge and premature ovulation.)

  4. I heard there was a national shortage of Ganerelix.. not sure if this is true. I was able to get 8 boxes last month.

  5. Yes, that's true. It's back-ordered nationally but acc. to my nurse was supposed to be released this week. There's another drug, Cetrotide, that can be used for the same purpose, but I couldn't get that in the right dose either!!!

  6. Jeeez. I found the "dealing with the drugs" the biggest pain in the ass, but your day sounds spectacularly painful. Glad you got them, though (although I wish that those needles were sharper -- they hurt!)
