The One Good Thing About Ear Tubes

At least I don't need to haul a kid to the doctor to know he has an ear infection.  The pus leaking from his ear can tell me directly.

Really.

Really.

The child has been on antibiotic ear drops for most of the last month (for the record, his surgery was April 12).  Tomorrow, filling that prescription for Augmentin.  Straight to Walgreens, do not pass go.

  3. Well, yeah, it sucks.

You're probably right, Jenny, given that he's been on all sorts of antibiotics since NOVEMBER because of these ears. They do get better, though, but become reinfected usually within a couple days of being off antibiotics. What to do?

  4. Does the puss leaking from his ears mean that it doesn't hurt quite as bad for him? I can't imagine an ear infection could ever feel ok, but I wonder if the pressure is what is most painful about ear infections... so sorry about all the infections and antibiotics. Stressful stressful stressful...

  5. Leslea, thanks for your comment. You know, I'm not really sure. He doesn't act like he's in incredible pain, but he's also NOT SLEEPING in that sick baby sort of way, so he's definitely not comfortable...
