We Didn't Die or Get Rabies Shots or Anything

To my students who were shocked that I killed the bat flying around in LG's room, here's why:  you can then take the fucker to get tested for rabies so your children don't have to have shots AGAIN.  No bat, go straight to the health department do not pass go.  So that part of the story turned out okay.

Now let's talk about how my front (screen) door won't currently open and so we need to have a locksmith come out.

I would just really like to get through a week without something BREAKING or a trip to a doctor (three last week, if you were keeping count).

On the sleep front, Tiny Boy still won't go back to his crib after his first nursing for the night.  But he did sleep a four hour stretch last night, which is like three hours longer than one, so yay for that.  I think this weekend my mom is coming for a visit and I think I will relinquish my office and give him a bedroom.  I think it's about that time.

  1. The health inspector at the camp I worked scared the crap out of us re: bats & rabies. So yeah, I understand how you summoned the will to catch the (blood)sucker. Glad no shots had to be endured - I hear the rabies vaccine is positively awful

  2. I Totally get it about the bat thing. My friend had to have 22 injections in the stomach because she picked up a stray mouse which later bit her!

  3. Well, compared to a trimester of PIO, the shots are no big deal. But still nothing you'd want to inflict on a kid. And definitely not twice!
