Update on the Status of My Ovaries

Well, I'm not sure what to think, beyond saying that I'll know more on Monday.

My biggest follicle is just under 16mm. There's another that's maybe 13mm. (Honestly, I'm not sure how people keep track of this stuff.) There are a bunch--like 5--around 10-12 mm. And a smaller one at 8mm. Yes, that would be 8 total. I haven't heard officially [E2 not back], but it looks like I'll probably return on Monday for monitoring and trigger Monday night, for a Wednesday retrieval. Lining is already 12mm. Right on schedule.

What I'm worried about, obviously, is that the big ones will keep growing but the smaller ones won't. This cycle is so much better than the previous one, insofar as I actually have follicular growth in MANY follicles. But if, in the end, there's only 2-3 mature ones, it's the same old story, only this time I don't have an IUI specimen.

What I'm not doing is taking more Follistim, without Dr. Gorgeous' authorization. In the meantime, I wait.

Update on the update: Dr. Gorgeous concurs with the nurse. I'm oddly calm. Serene, really. But I don't see this IVF actually happening.

  1. Yay for your follies! I'm hoping they'll all be growing similarly. :D I head in tomorrow for my last u/s and will probably trigger tomorrow night for a Tuesday retrieval. How are your papers going? Don't you love reading the same stuff over and over again?!? Sending you good vibes. :D

  2. Oh wow! Good luck with you!

I know how you feel about last October. I can't believe I'm here again, doing the same thing.

I keep telling myself that sometimes these things work out through. You'll never know if you don't try. Cliche, I know, but true. :)

    Good luck!
