Random Bullets of Mostly Good

  • I let LG sleep in this morning and drove her to school. We got there just as the bell rung, and it was great (sadistic?) fun seeing her red coat flying behind her as she ran to her door. She's like a real kid. (Duh.) But seriously within the past year she has lost all residual babyness (at least in appearance). We were driving somewhere a few weeks ago and she said to me with awe Mom! Did you know I have HAIR on my legs? That means I'm almost a grown up!
  • I am writing this because I do not want to walk to school and meet with BSC to discuss her observation of my class last week, which seems a lifetime ago, but according to IUI-time was in fact exactly 10 days. Have I mentioned that the last time BSC observed my class I ended up crying for about two days straight? It was the lowest point of my entire professional life, for entirely personal reasons.
  • I drank decaf this morning. I figure it's counterbalanced by the pineapple I ate.
  • In case you were worried, I haven't lost any more weight, which probably has to do with the massive amounts of potatoes I'm consuming.
  • I also wrote something resembling a poem this morning, which is good, because I'd convinced myself that I'd forgotten how to write poems. So even though I was less than impressed by the poetry reading I attended last night, it clearly had some positive effects. Must buy books of poems! (Must order books for spring semester!)
  • Have been hemming and hawing about the Thanksgiving problem. That would be the fact that I am anticipating needing an IUI sometime over Thanksgiving weekend, the Monday after (my birthday!!!!) at the latest, unless I take the drastic measure of putting myself on the pill. I like being with family for Thanksgiving, but I also like not going anywhere. I've tabled this decision until I see Dr. Gorgeous next week, as I think I'd skip the cycle if we do something BIG (gulp) in December/January. I'm thinking this might be a fine time for a hysteroscopy, too, if we can swing it.
  • Have not peed on a stick. Have no intention of peeing on a stick. Other than those vague uterine twinges I almost always seem to have, there's nothing going on. Beta in two days.
  • Now I really do need to walk to school. Wish me luck
