- I made very good decisions about our travel plans. At the last minute, I decided we should head out of town on Thursday rather than Wednesday. That meant LG and I had a "cleaning and movie day" on Wednesday, and we stayed in our PJs until about 1:00 pm. We really needed that. Ditto the decision to return yesterday afternoon instead of this morning. We now have our usual quiet Sunday ahead of us.
- I heart Trader Joe's. Among other goodies, I bought six containers of sunbutter, which is what LG eats daily for lunch. Why is there no Trader Joe's within an hour of my house?
- My sister is mad at me because I avoided her request to hang out one-on-one. Call me an evil bitch, but I really have no desire to have an intimate conversation with someone who has been institutionalized within the past year and refuses to talk about the issues that led her there. It didn't help that she showed up to Thanksgiving dinner completely stoned, either from overdosing on her usual meds or using them in a new and interesting way.
- My mother is mad at me becfor the same reason, but she'll get over it. I think.
- There was a very scary moment when LG requested to get in the car with her aforementioned auntie and I said in the sternest voice I own absolutely not and proceeded to repeat myself about five times.
- LG and I slipped out of about an hour of Thanksgiving dinner to go have dessert at L's parents' house, which was just lovely.
- Things I consumed which were not on my diet but tasted really yummy: red wine, blueberry pie, bread stuffing, mashed potatoes, coffee, coffee, coffee. ummmm.
- We ran into Famous Writer, who is the craziest of my senior colleagues, at the video store the other day, and she actually wished me a happy holiday. You have no idea how big that it. Prepare for the apocalypse.
- Tomorrow is the day we are not celebrating. I think it just might be okay.
