Anxieties

  • I'm worried that I already ovulated. Why Dr. G checked my P4 level at the beginning of the week and not yesterday is beyond me (usually she's pretty compulsive). Let's just say I felt something explode in my left ovary yesterday, enough that I was doubled over, about an hour after my ultrasound. And while I have a lot of ovarian twinges during the follicular phase, the fact that I'm not feeling much of anything today has me a bit concerned. Am I worried enough to page Dr. G? I don't think so, but give me a few hours.
  • I'm worried about taking LG to the IUI tomorrow, something that I have previously managed to avoid. She knows words like donor and sp*rm and has enough literacy to figure out what Dr. G's office is for. I'm hoping she can hang out with the receptionist during the actual procedure, but I figure it's not much longer before she figures out why I'm going there. Have I told you that she's now interested in a baby brother (which might be because A's baby is a boy, but who knows)? Can you grow me one, please?
  • I'm vaguely worried I might be moving into mild OHSS territory, between the Ovidrel and the crazy E2 level. Granted, I did okay after IVF, and my E2 level was more than double what it was yesterday, but that shot up FAST. It doubled in 24 hours, even after taking Ganirelix. I don't remember ever being this pukey the day after a trigger shot.
  • I'm worried about putting together my tenure file. Actually, I'm not worried about the putting together so much as the eventual outcome. I'm really hoping that I'll be so worried about pregnancy that the job will seem insignificant. Of course, then I'll really need a job...
  • I'm just worried. Not crazy insane worried, but I've lost that zen. Maybe it's all those research papers I've been reading (30 more pieces of student writing to go).
