Small Good Things (IUI #12 edition)

  1. Unless my bloodwork was wonky, it appears that I am doing IUI #12 on Saturday. Here's what I ended up with: 12mm lining, follicles at 20, 16, 12, 11 (yes, it appears that the third one shrunk and something unexpected popped up on the right). So I've got two mature and a good lining and, as of yesterday, a sky-high estrogen level. Can't ask for much more.
  2. I know I've said this before, but estrogen makes me all shimmery, even with a Ganirelix headache. [ETA: Today's E2 came back at something over 1000. Gulp.]
  3. Afternoon monitoring, which afforded a 1-minute impromptu consult with Dr. Gorgeous, including a hug. She said this could work.
  4. I was right. I was right. I was right. (That would be when I told the nurse that I really didn't think I'd ovulate on day 5.)
  5. I gave the nurses brownies, and I'm donating to Fertility Socks. I seem to get pregnant when I bestow goodness on the universe. But even if I don't, it feels good.
  6. And a non-fertility bonus: Teary good-bye conversations with some of my best students. I live for those moments, when they say what a good semester they had, they learned so much, etc. Can't get much better.

  1. overall it sounds like a really awesome day. Congratulations on the fabulous growing follicles and, perhaps more importantly (?) on making a real difference in some young people's lives this term. That has got to feel great, so revel in it.

And you got a hug. What a banner day!

(and weirdly, my verification word is really a word: grand. So, in a non-ironic way, you could think of your day as "grand" and that would be kind of cool.)

  2. I love the victory days! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one of those little eggies will get it's lucky day on Saturday...
