Small Good Things

Before I get sucked down into the vortex of sad and never return...
  1. My grades were finished about 26 hours before they absolutely needed to be. And, I have to say, it was probably the most painless final grading period I've had, at least at my current job. Must keep in mind lessons learned for fall.
  2. I used the rest of yesterday afternoon to make phone calls and line up the future (summer camp for LG, aftercare for LG for next year, ENT app't, acupuncture app't, new donor info, etc). I hate phone calls, and I hate busy work, so that's always the stuff that ends up at the very bottom of my list.
  3. I read about 150 pages last night in an adamantly not-for-school book. Granted, it's by a fiction writer I have taught on occasion, but this particular volume will never end up on a syllabus. Somehow that made it really easy to plow through. My summer reading list is packed with things that I should read and might possibly teach (various shades of guilt), so this was an important kickoff to summer.
  4. Only 5 more Doxycyline pills. That's good, because I'm really tired of feeling pukey in the mornings. Speaking of which...
  5. LG and I are heading out of town tomorrow for a family function and a long weekend. That means I'll get to see L, and it doesn't get much better than that.
