No matter what happens with my blood test tomorrow, the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad year is officially over. It was a year ago today that I found out I was pregnant and likely to miscarry. While I've decided not to
commemorate that loss today (the pregnancy did, after all, go on for another two weeks), I do want to mark this year OVER. The year that follows, well, I imagine it can only get better. Well, that's what I'm telling myself, anyway.
I've started asking LG to do Small Good Things at bedtime. Here are mine for the day:
- Real spring weather. Purple tank-top wearing weather. Purple toenail polish weather. Purple sun hat weather.
- Watching LG roller skate up and down our block.
- Reading on the porch.
- Fresh pineapple and organic strawberries.
- It's been a fucking year, people. I think it's going to be okay.
Thinking of you.
ReplyDeletePurple sun hats, and tank tops, and nails, how wonderful!
Thinking of you. Sorry things have been so crappy.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness the year is at an end. And thank goodness for rollerskating daughters, sun on your shoulders, and the beginning of a new year.
ReplyDeleteGood luck manana.
I love the Small Good Things -- what a perfect bedtime practice.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you. It's always amazing to look back and realize that you made it through a really bad time even though it seemed impossible when you were in it.
